Update: Mike Ortiz Gets Diagnosed with Brain Tumor: MMA Career Placed on Hold

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 29, 2011 – It's a bump in the road for Mike Ortiz; he's been preparing to fight Anderson Silva and his career must be placed on hold until he receives treatment for his brain tumor.  Mike was devasted to hear the news; he is determined to get the surgery and make a full recovery as he pursues his quest to fight Anderson Silva.

Former Empire State Game winner, collegiate wrestler, Cage Fury Fighter and all-around athlete in soccer and baseball, Mike has never taken a break.  Receiving several black belts in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and karate, Mike's game has never been so strong.  He has practiced with world boxing champion, Tim Witherspoon in Philadelphia.  Mike has also trained with Ricardo Almeida, Frankie Edgar, Matt Serra and Big John Latu.

Ortiz' style is known to be more ground and pound with amazing stand-up.  He has fought in over five professional fights, and six semi-pro fights total.

Mike's motivation to succeed in life will keep him focused on achieveing his goal: to destroy Anderson Silva.
