A descendant of Stephen Hopkins who came over on the Mayflower, Dick C. Waters was born in Boston, and attended college there in the early 1960s. He is a former hockey player, a former member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, and worked in Harvard Square. Now retired, he lives near Phoenix.
