EGM Award-Winning Film The Grandfathers Screening at Artivist Film Festival

The Grandfathers DVDPRLog (Press Release) - Aug 11, 2011 - Oklahoma City, OK — Producer of the Festival & Artivist Awards, the Artivist Collective, Inc. is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Los Angeles, CA. The festival begins August 18th and run through the 20th in Hollywood and plans to screen 11 features and more than two dozen shorts. The Grandfathers will be showing Friday August 19th at 7:20pm in The Spielberg Theater located in in the historic Egyptian Theater.

Founded in 2003, the festival is unique in its commitment to raise awareness for international human rights, children’s advocacy, environmental preservation, and the humane treatment of animals through international, narrative, and documentary films. EGM president Bill Oechsler commented, “It’s an honor to have a film selected to be part of a film festival with such a heart of compassion.”    

The Grandfathers follows the journey of Jesse Saint, a young man searching for his identity among the stone-age tribe that murdered his grandfather. By befriending three tribal elders who took part in the killing, Jesse learns profound lessons about his identity and destiny. What begins as a quest for personal significance becomes a tribute to dignity, forgiveness, and purpose. This motion-graphics film completes the inspiring trilogy begun with Beyond the Gates of Splendor and followed by End of the Spear.

All three films, directed by Jim Hanon and produced by Mart Green, chronicle an inspiring story of commitment and sacrifice, forgiveness and reconciliation. Ultimately, from the transformation throughout the tribe and within the families, a lasting legacy of faith, hope, and love has been born.

The Grandfathers was recently awarded the respected “5-Dove” rating from the Dove Foundation.
