PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 12, 2011 – Buster Akery, an award-winning performer and songwriter, has joined forces with top musicians for an Open Borders (125 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks) concert, Thursday, July 14. A portion of the proceeds for the evening will go to Conejo Valley Days. The first 100 copies of Akery's new album "RED" will be signed and sold for $5 with all proceeds going to the Thousand Oaks Police Explorer Scouts. Joining Akery on stage will be keyboardist Rory Kaplan (who has performed with Michael Jackson), Joel Taylor on drums (who performs with Yanni) and from "Shout," George Roeke on bass and Scott Luedke on guitar.
"We're excited about performing at this fantastic venue and for the opportunity to raise funds for a Conejo Valley Days, one of the best community events in all of Southern California," says Akery, who is a Newbury Park resident and general chair of Conejo Valley Days.
Akery and his band will perform a 9:00 p.m. Singer Rachel Fannan starts the evening off at 7:00 p.m. followed by The Janks at 8:00 -1241008838 p.m.
