Boomer Radio Show Moves to New Day and Time

After spending a year on Thursdays in the 1:00pm to 2:00pmEST time slot, The Boomer Beat Radio Show on WCOM 103.5FM in Carrboro, NC is moving to a new day and time. The program will now air on Mondays from Noon to 1pm. Veteran journalist Beverly Mahone is the host of the one-hour show that targets the baby boomer generation.

The highly popular program not only showcases the talents and expertise of North Carolina baby boomers but has included celebrity guest interviews with Soap Opera Star John Aniston (Jennifer Aniston's father) and National Talk Show Host Jane Velez-Mitchell. The uniqueness of The Boomer Beat, according to Mahone, is that each show carries a theme and all of the music played correlates along with that theme. "For example, if we're talking about the best places to go for vacation, all of the music I play during the show will highlight a city or state somewhere in the U.S.

Mahone is no stranger to the talk show circuit. Prior to joining WCOM-FM, she also hosted radio shows at WILD in Boston, WKBR in Manchester, NH, WNCU in Durham, NC and WQIO in Canton, OH.

She says, "I wanted to move to Mondays because of some other professional commitments but we're not going to skip a beat. We're going to be just as lively, entertaining and informative as ever. It's going to be the perfect way to kick off the beginning of your week!"

The Boomer Beat will begin broadcasting on Mondays starting July 11.
