In the year 1810, Prince Ludwig of Bavaria threw a five day wedding party that became so popular the locals decided to make it an annual tradition.   And the German Oktoberfest was born.  German immigrants to the US brought this great tradition with them and those settling in North Dallas, Texas carry on the tradition today.

USA Today' ranks Addison’s Oktoberfest among the Top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations in North America.  Addison Oktoberfest has grown to attract more than 70,000 fans of polka, German food and Spaten Bier.  All will gather in North Dallas’s spectacular Addison Circle Park for four days of music, folk dancing, sing-alongs, children’s entertainment and more.

Addison Oktoberfest is an authentic recreation of the Munich Oktoberfest featuring Bavarian food and entertainment.  Among the traditional events are the “German Idol” competition to find the best yodeler in Texas and the German Spelling Bee.  And of course, other German favorites such as turkey legs, Wienerschnitzel sandwiches, Bavarian Roast Pork, and last but not least, plenty of beer from the Spaten-Franziskaner Brewery will be available as well.
